DECISIONS AND OBSERVATIONS

The paths I've traveled are strewn with debris,
With thoughts I've encountered from things I'd see.
When I started on this road it was designed by Disney,
What's left of it now just makes me dizzy.
But still I plod and trudge along, 
In search of values I fear are gone.
Seeking justice and fairness for deeds well done,
Results would be better if I used a gun.
Hopes dying fast on this road I chose,
My only relief has been in writing prose.
It seems the more you strive to do right, 
The harder "they" try to put out your light.
The good guys are bad and the bad are good,
Nothing in life seems to be as it should.
I'd throw in the towel and give up the fight, 
If I believed for a moment it would make things right.
But in this world of perpetual night,
Even greater the value of the smallest light.
So as long as I have the power to shine,
I'll continue on this path that seems to be mine.
So this statement I issue to those who should know,
This one little light was born just to glow!
